I have 2 X55U Asus laptops. No problem with the printer printing from my computer but it will not print for my wife's computer. I have a HP Deskjet 4280. Before printing, the "Devices and Printers" page on each of the laptops has a green check mark in the lower left hand corner of the printer icon. When I click "Print" on the page to be printed, HP's page comes up and says "Now printing" but nothing happens.

Chosen solution

I fixed it myself. I uninstalled the printer on both laptops and re-installed. Whatever the problem was, the printer now works for both computers. Thank you very much for your work on this. It is greatly appreciated.

Are both laptops the same age? Are the drivers up to date on both of them? Is her's actually connected to the printer?

Look to see if the printer icon is active in bottom right corner. Hover the mouse pointer over it to see if it indicates a number of documents pending. Double click on it and read the top of the dialog box to see the printer name to confirm the document was sent to the correct place.

They are the same age. Hers is not connected to the printer but I have set up shared printing. Everything is in order but hers will not print. Both printers say "Ready" but after trying to print hers will say "Printer Error" whereas mine says " 0 documents in queue"

Are you trying to print a page accessed through the Mozilla Firefox web browser? If not, perhaps this isn't an issue for the Mozilla Support help forum. Maybe an ASUS or HP forum might be more appropriate.

Mozilla Firefox is the only browser that I use. If I was using another browser I wouldn't be approaching the Firefox forum.

I was trying to clarify if you were printing web pages. Does the printer work if you try to print other things such as photos or documents from the same computer?
