My Optimum Webmail (Cablevision) no longer displays HTML after I upgraded to 9 (Beta update is the same). IE still works fine. Emails say: "This message may not display as originally intended." When I click the View Message button that follows this error message, it opens a new window and displays the email with HTML correctly. Cablevision says it's a problem with new FF version, maybe connected with Flash, and says they can't do anything until FF solves the compatability problem.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you, cor-el. I tried each of your suggestions and still have the same problem. Every email that has HTML has this problem, not just some of them, so it appears to be some kind of conflict between Optimum's email (webtop.webmail) and the new version of Firefox (9 or Beta 10), rather than a problem with certain sites. I appreciate any other ideas or suggestions from you or other members of the community.
