I have moved my old folders from a MacBook Pro with an Intel chip ("old computer") to a MacBook Pro with a M4 Chip ("new computer"). Prior to moving I updated the updated Thunderbird on the old computer to version 137.0.1 and installed the same on the new computer. Since I cannot transfer files via USB I copied all of them to OneDrive and then shared that folder to the new computer. The OneDrive folder can be seen on both computers; the same profile m5wv3t89.default, and its contents can as well (e.g. Mail -> pop.rcn-1.com -> Inbox and Inbox.msf). I point the new computer's Thunderbird to the same Local Directory. It appears to create a new index file: It creates another one with a different suffix: Inbox-MacBookPro-2.msf -- the same size as the Inbox.msf. So far so good...
In the new computer Thunderbird I can see the Inbox and all the Local folders. However, when I attempt to look at an email, I select an email, and the pane below the email is solid white. I see no text. (see screenshot below) I generally run in Dark Mode. And on the settings page "Enable dark message mode" is checked, and "Show dark message mode toggle" is also checked (but I have no idea where to find the toggle!).
How do I get Thunderbird to display a selected message? (if it is only black text on white background that's fine ... or if it can be white text on a black background -- dark mode -- that would be better). But right now I can't see the message text, period!

Previously, I was able to disable having collapsed folders should message count totals of their subfolders by setting "mail.folderpane.sumSubfolders" to false.
I recently moved to TB 128 and while I still have this set, collapsed folders are still showing message counts that include the message counts of all their subfolders. I want collapsed folders to only show message counts for the messages actually in that particular folder, not the count of all message in all its child folders.
Is there any way to get this back in TB 128?

I can't see any of my inbox in the trash, junk etc. Don't know where they have disappeared to. I just sent a test message to my email and it appears to be working. I can't send e-mails from one of my adddresses in Thunderbird. I haven't changed the password on this account. When I try to send an e-mail it won't send and I get the following two messages. Entering the password again makes no difference. What can I do to resolve this? Thanks.
Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.aol.com. Please check the passsword and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outging server (SMTP)'.
Login to server smtp.aol.com with username xxxxxxxxxxx@aol.com failed.
It's OK, this is now resolved. I just needed an app password from AOL/Yahoo. Thanks.

Problem started 2 days ago.
Checking on my cellphone using Google chrome on my webmail account new emails are shown.
If I quit Thunderbird and restart the new emails now show in the inbox.
What needs to be done to get All new emails showing up in my Thunderbird Inbox?

Ils vont dans la boite de réception et c'est à moi de les retirer : outils/supprimer les indésirables de ce dossier. Hello, I am on Thunderbird 128.9.1 ESR, and I've observed that the native options to copy or move messages or folders from one IMAP account to another IMAP account fails when it encounters the first error such as the one mentioned below, and it never proceeds further. The problem is that it copies in some moves/copies the messages in an order that I am unable to comprehend, hence the folder move keeps getting interrupted with the same error. Is there an option in the settings/configurations that can be used to force TB to continue copying/moving even if it encounters an error? I got around this using the ImportExportNG extension, that did not stop the transfer if it encountered an error, but I had to export the folders through the extension before importing them. I'm now working on a nested directory, and I am hesitant to use the export/import option to avoid confusion.
Errors like this appear often: "The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account ProtonMail responded: unexpected char ':', for header field value: failed to parse header."

Wife and I have two separate desktops on a MS Win 11 PC (desktop). I have T-Bird ver 136.0 (64 bit) running on my side working perfectly. We just tried installing her old T-Bird account on her side, and after a while, we got it installed and are able to RECEIVE mail--also on ver 136.0 (64 bit), but can't SEND.
