People do not receive my emails
People are not receiving my emails. I am receiving other peoples emails. I am using Linux Mint 22 and Thunderbird 140.11.1esr. If I send an email and look in the sent folder, it shows that it has been sent. If I log into my Bell Webmail portal and check the sent folder there, it shows that the email has been sent. But no one gets my emails. If I send an email from my Bell Webmail portal, people receive that email. I have re-installed Thunderbird and allowed Thunderbird to autofil the incoming and outgoing server information after entering my user name and password. No change. I have contacted Bell my internet provider and they have told me that because I can send from the Webmail portal and not from my Desktop, it is a Thunderbird problem. It seems that this problem may have start just after Thunderbird received an update about 2-4 weeks ago. It has been around a month since the last time I had a back and forth email exchange. Searching the forum has been difficult to find an issue similar to mine. Any help would be appreciated. Robert

Does that also happen if you start TB in Troubleshoot mode?
Does that also happen with a new profile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-thunderbird-profiles)?
There is no change if I start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode.
I uninstalled the Thunderbird app and then deleted the complete .Thunderbird directory from my home directory and then re-installed Thunderbird with the minimum of configurations to just get the email account to work. No change occurred. Does that constitute creating a new profile or do I have to create a new email address and test that.
Thank you Ed for your help. I think my problem is at Bell internet provider.
I tried using Geary with my current email address, no change. That to me says there is no issue with Thunderbird.
I created a new email address and tested it using Geary and that worked. I used the new email address and tested it with Thunderbird and that worked. That sure sounds like the fault is at Bell. I will follow up with them. Thank you.
what is the domain part of the email address. One of the most common failures where delivery are concerned are reverse DNS failures. I see at least one bell domain has issues so almost certainly has deliverability issues from sites refusing to accept mail.
Try plugging it into https://intodns.com
The three common Bell Canada domains are listed below with their registered mail exchanger. Is your address perhaps with bellaliant as it is misconfigured. Sympatico.ca mx.sympatico.ca 209.71.208.7 bell.net mx.bell.net 209.71.212.24 bellaliant.net
