I use IMAP to grab my mail, if that's important.

In the last couple of days, my normal method of deleting messages from my Inbox, right-clicking on the message and selecting the trash can icon, has stopped working: the message disappears for a moment, then reappears. I can delete it by dragging it to the Trash folder in the folders pane on the left.

I've followed the instructions given in several postings here, including deleting the Trash and trash.msf files, doing that and then creating an empty txt file called Trash (no .txt), and using Repair Folder.

It just now occurred to me to disconnect from the Internet and try to delete a message. It worked fine?!

A few days ago I sent emails and did not see the usual "Saving to Sent (IMAP)". Instead it said something like saving to Sent folder. That's fine, but the emails didn't appear in my Thunderbird Sent folders. I downloaded Thunderbird to see if my version was obsolete. Still no emails in Sent folder. The internet said I could delete my Sent folder, and Thunderbird would re-establish Sent folder. It did not. I can still see my old emails in my Local Thunderbird sent mail, so I deleted about 100 old emails in case the folder was too full. Still, the new emails I was sending did not appear. I checked with a few recipient people and they told me the email go to them. I have tried all the "solutions" I can find. What else can I do to see copies of my outgoing emails.?

My Thunderbird email account developed a problem, emails would download but contained no content. The same emails on on my provider's web site (Spectrum.com) did contain content. I want to fix this problem.

I am unable to send email. I either get this error message: 'Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com timed out. Try again. I get the same error using Port 587 and STARTTLS

I have also been asked for a password to connect to: netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com I have never needed a password before and I do not have a password.

I do receive emails.

I finally got Thunderbird to not go to Rogers every time I get email. But now I cannot send any email from any address.When I try to send I get an error message. I cannot add an SMPT server as it will not take it

After returning from a 6 day vacation, my wife attempted to download email from her Yahoo email account. There are nearly 200 messages that have piled up but they aren't moving. I've uninstalled and re-installed TB. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app password in Yahoo. There is no problem with accessing the email via any web browser. I spent 49 minutes on a tech support call with Yahoo and they have said the problem is with TB because they repeated the same steps I have. I checked firewall settings and the only antivirus program on the computer is Malware Bytes and it's not running in the background. The version of TB is the most recent as of yesterday. I don't see any sketchy looking emails in the web version of Yahoo Mail when it's opened. It's set up as a POP3 account and has been since Cox Internet gave their email over to Yahoo. I'd appreciate any assistance in resolving this because it's currently above my pay grade and tech support at Yahoo.

I can send emails but I cannot receive them. I can receive them at Spectrum.net. The problem started the evening of the 26th. Everything was fine during the day. But in the evening I could no longer get email. I am not aware of making any changes to either Thunderbird or to Spectrum. I did call Spectrum but they could not find any problem on their end. I recently changed the password in Spectrum but Thunderbird has the updated password. All of the settings in Thunderbird look right. Any ideas on what I should do?

I had to recently change my password on my shaw email account. Now thunderbird won't download my emails. I changed the password in the account settings to match the shaw email account password but I keep getting an error message: "Host contacted, sending login information..." and then after a long delay the error message reads "Login to server pop.shaw.ca with username ... failed". Any idea what I'm doing wrong by simply changing the password? I think this happened before and some wonderful human on this forum told me I had to put something before the password or click/unclick a particular box, but I can't find that old answer to my previous question. Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer!

What are the memory limits for Thunderbird. Currently, I get this message when I try to save and email "Unable to save your message to local folders. Possibly out of local file storage space." Please see attached screenshot.

I am not out of storage space.

Any suggestions?

I have Thunderbird 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. When I opened Thunderbird this morning, it originally gave a message that the connection to the email server had failed. Before I had time to look into this, it downloaded a number of emails without headings and sometimes without text. However, Thunderbird on my Android phone, I discovered subsequently, had downloaded all the messages correctly. The problem seems to have now corrected itself for subsequent emails, but is there some way I can force the download of these previous incomplete emails? Also, this is a very recent update to Thunderbird - I think it was installed in the last few days. Is it a problem with the update and is it likely to occur again?

A new one today. Some but not all emails are downloading, in that they seem to be in the IN box but all they are showing is the date - no content or subject. I am a btinternet user. If i check the account online, the conent is there. Have just had one such from Mozilla giving me a sign in code. I'm not quite sure where to sign in with it though as I appear to have already signed in automatically. Oh dear! Carol

Thunderbird demands my password for outgoing SMT server when I go to send an email but when I enter it, system won't accept it even though it is the correct password. I have had this problem for some time and it comes and goes. Sometimes I have ebeen able to send without a problem, then it comes back I had a helpful reply from this forum (can't find who posted it - Mick?) tellling me to go into the error console (Ctrl + Shift + J) and delete eveything in that. I tried that. It worked at first, but now when I do it, it has no effect. And the problem now appears to have become permanent, although occasionally after I have been working for some hours, then suddenly I can send without any problem. Problem hasn't budged though for a couple of days now. This is a mysterious and erratic gremlin, which now seems to have taken root. Any suggestions please? Carol

I can not down load Emails from Yahoo to Thunderbird. Every things was fine as of Aug 26th. On Aug 27th with no changes to any system settings the Yahoo Emails would not down Load. I am running Win 10 on my system. I disabled the antivirus. Reloaded Thunderbird - no effect.

I have since deleted Thunderbird and then reinstalled  latest version of Thunderbird (154.0) .
I re-entered my password. I checked the OAuth2  settings and they are set as described in the support article "OAuth2 Authentication for Yahoo, AOL and ATT". 

Message bar at bottom of Thunderbird screen shows: Myaccountname@yahoo.com:Downloading message 1 of 7 The emails do not down load - then after a few minutes - a no messages to download message flashes and then blank - nothing

I am out of Ideas. Anyone?

Here is the message I get. Very inconvenient... Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Too many recipients. Please reduce the number of recipients and try again. AUP#Out-1550. Please check the message recipient "........" and try again.

I have been using Thunderbird for years without issue, but three days ago, I started having issues.

Now, I don't receive emails when I open Thunderbird. If I delete my password and re-sign in, I receive emails, but cannot send them. Trying to send an email makes Thunderbird ask me to sign in again.

I have two email accounts that I use with Thunderbird. Both accounts have this issue. I have this issue regardless of the network I'm in (work, cell hotspot, or home).

Things I have tried:

• Verified that my IMAP and SMTP settings match the guidance from email servers.
• Verified that my computer firewall is not blocking email.
• Tried connecting on different networks (so different ISPs)
• Deleted and re-entered passwords for each account

Here my current server configuration:

• Email 1 (@gmail.com)

About 6 months ago T-bird stopped sending outgoing messages. Each time I typed even a test message to send to myself, it rejected. Everything else works. I have defaulted to my Comcast email client which is not as friendly as T-bird. T-bird is up to date and none of my settings for outgoing mail was changed. Why won't my mail all of the sudden not process? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.
