hi, snap thunderbird 155.0-1 ubuntu 24.04 keeps asking for passwords of all email accounts after upgrading thunderbird. all passwords are correct and they were not changed. the issue started today after thunderbird was upgraded to 155.0-1. this new version seems to have touched on oauth: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/155.0/releasenotes/

I am struggling to set up calendar and contacts sync between Thunderbird (v155@ubuntu26.04) and my google account. I use a university account to access google services, so my google account is not some.name@gmail.com but some.name@myuniversity.cz. I understand that Thunderbird somehow needs to invoke OAuth2 process with google, but I do not know, what to fill in the "Hostname" or "Location" fields for Contacts and Calendar, respectively. Any help? Thank you.

In the last couple of days I’ve had a couple of alerts from TB when in other apps, seemingly random times, but possibly when I get an email (from memory, about Thunderbird requiring access to my Google account). I haven’t received any emails for a couple of days and I can’t send them (connection to Outgoing server smtp.gmail.com timed out). But, in TB account settings an outgoing server test was successful (Successfully established a secure connection to smtp.gmail.com:465). I also can’t pause calendar reminders, whatever I do they stay on the screen (but I can delete them with the X in the top-right corner). I haven’t changed anything in my TB or Google account settings. I’ve checked authorisations in my google account and TB auth is there. On my (android) phone, I can send and receive emails OK. I was having problems with my chromebook. when I start my chromebook and i click on the thunderbird icon it doesn't open ! I have restored my chrombook and reinstalled thunderbird again but the problem is still there. The only way to access thunderbird is to open linux and type in thunderbird and then i have access to thunderbird once I turn off my chromebook and then reopen it once again thunderbird is not working !

Could somebody please tell me what settings I did not make ....

I have four gmail accounts, say A, B, C and D. A is the default.

If I send a message from B to an outside email address, the reply routing is returned to the A address and not the B sending address.

If I send a message from B to C then the message is not received anywhere, it simply disappears.

If I open a browser and send a message from B to C then the message is delivered. So I know that the problem is with Thunderbird and not the email service.

Please tell me what I need to change in the settings ....

I want to sync calendars across Thunderbird and iPhone. (Linux Mint 22 Wilma, Thunderbird 140.14.1 esr)

I am trying to use the Apple calendar server to sync with. Using the Create New Calendar dialog box in Thunderbird, then applying the Apple-assigned password, Thunderbird returns "Could not find calendars at this location. Please check your settings."

I would appreciate help with this.

The latest Snap update on my Kubuntu laptop is marked as a BETA version. I haven't selected the BETA stream, and I checked and snap seems to be pointed at the stable version.

I like to keep track of changes at each install and there's no Release Notes available.

Is this an error at your end or do I need to change something to get back to a stable version?

I've found out that on both Linux and Windows since the last update (154.0), the PDFs printed directly from the Thunderbird PDF viewer, prints out blank PDF.

To recreate this, open a PDF attachment in an email, simple double click on it, in the top right corner on the tool bar, press the little printer icon, choose either "Save as PDF" or print to the actual printer, in both cases, you will get one blank PDF page.

I have Thunderbird installed on a linux o/s running Zorin 18.1 the version of thunderbird is shown in uploaded images. I wish to export everything in my profile to a folder which Evolution can access when asked to import. I then intend to delete Thunderbird and carry on with Evolution as my email app of choice. I have two Gmail accounts and one school account that uses Office 365. In the left panel where the inbox, drafts, etc. are, the Gmail accounts are listed in blue but the school account is listed in white. I can't see any reason for this difference in the accounts' settings. What does the difference indicate?

I have been using Thunderbird since its inception. I have noticed a pattern recently where more spam and phishing messages present encryption when I "view source". Normally, the text is visible.

Just curious regarding their technique, how that works and whether it can be resolved.

I am using thunderbird client on arch linux. I am trying to filter by adding "Reply-To" as a filter. If i look into the source of the email i am trying to filter (i get like 100s of spam messages and only the Reply To seems to be from the same domain in the end) the Reply-To appears in there.

Any idea how to fix that? The other rules work fine, this one only seems to not work

Running Thunderbird 140.14.0esr under Linux on a Chromebook. Have tried several times to move messages from Inbox to other folders and each time TB shuts down. When I restart it has an extra blank tab. I am able to move items using the Move To menu but that's tedious. It appears there was an update 18 August but the issue just started today. There have also been recent updates to Chrome but I've done all the shut downs/restarts called for.

I am using Thunderbird 140.12.0esr 64 bit under Linux. I was obliged to change my Gmail password. I deleted my Gmail account from Thunderbird. I than proceeded to Add a new account and entered my Gmail account and new password. A blank window popped up: 'https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth?response_type=code&client_id=406964657835-aq8lmia8j95dhl1a2bvharmfk3t1hgqj.apps.googleusercontent.com&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost&scope=https%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2F+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fcarddav+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fcalendar&login_hint=gizzenbriggs%40gmail.com' I suspect that this is from Google asking me to confirm my password. Unfortunately the window is blank and I cannot enter anything. Consequently I cannot add a new email account to Thunderbird.

I'm on an up-to-date Ubuntu 24.04 on a ThinkPenguin J4 laptop with 25G of memory, using latest Thunderbird 154.0 [Mozilla Thunderbird Snap for Ubuntu - ubuntu-snap-build - 1.0]

This has been a problem even before the transition to 153-154 (very slow login), but now it is almost impossible to log in.

I click on Thunderbird icon, it comes up and asks for my password. After PW is entered, it hangs with the above message for almost 2 minutes before my emails show up.

Ping to posteo.de is immediate on this same laptop, and K9-Mail on my Droid works fine.

Every time I try to open Thunderbird mail, I get a screen to install it again!!. Why is this.?? Is there a way to keep it installed.? Or must I jump through hoops each time I need to use email.?
