Opening links in new tabs doen't work

Hi,

I just downloaded Firefox on my new PC (laptop) but for an unknown reason opening a link in a new tab doesn't work. Opening a link in a new window doesn't work either, and opening the link in a new private window does not work either. It is getting frustrating to say the least, as I've never encountered this problem before and I have no idea what to do. :)

Does it make a difference if try this in a new window in case there is a problem with the current window ?

Can you open the link with a left-click in the current tab or via Shift + left-click in a new window or via a middle-click in a new tab ?
