When I'm on the internet, any site that I click to go to produces another tab for options. Sometimes there are several tabs saying options depending on how many sites I have visited. How do I stop these tabs from occurring?

As of right now at the top of my browser, there is a tab saying"Ask a Question" and next to it is a tab saying "Options". Why is there a tab saying Options if I have not selected it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
