Bookmarks do not sync

Sebastian Astill replied
Kelt.

Updated all browsers. Reset Firefox sync on all of them with new password. Bookmarks show up on the home PC , Laptop and two Android devices. Some (not all) bookmarks folders show on the windows netbook, on the bookmarks toolbar, but there are no bookmarks inside, nor any other bookmarks anywhere. The other sync items here have updated just fine (e.g. add-ons) Frustrating me terribly, as this windows netbook is supposed to be my school device.

What can I do to fix this?

places.sqlite may be corrupted. Download the Places Maintenance add-on then follow the steps listed at http://blog.bonardo.net/2011/09/30/is-your-firefor-freezing-at-regular-intervals to rebuild the places.sqlite file.

Thanks, I did as you suggested, with no success. I have moved the Sync icon to the toolbar, and when clicked, it rotates maybe once, but never for more than a second or two.

Update! I added a toolbar bookmark for this page on my home PC a half hour ago. THAT bookmark has been synced on the netbook, but nothing that existed prior to that has come over. That bookmark shows up on all the devices.

I'm not sure how to fix Sync but if it is working for all new bookmarks, one way to get the old ones over is to download and import them.

Open your bookmarks, click on "Import and Backup" > "Export Bookmarks to HTML..." > Save.

Either save the file to a shared drive or email it to yourself then import the bookmarks file into your netbook in a similar fashion: click on "Import and Backup" > "Import Bookmarks From HTML" > Open.
