How do I rename an app?
By pressing on the star icon, I installed (bookmarked) an app to the home screen. During that process, I was offered to enter a name, based on the title of the web page.
Can I change the name shown on the home screen?

The only way to do so on Firefox OS is to bookmark it again (we don't have a way to modify the name after it has been bookmarked). You should be able to find the original link in your browser history or top sites.

If you just want to rename the bookmark, then re-clicking on the star gives you that option. More details here.
Note that this question is concerning Firefox OS. The link you gave is about the Firefox desktop browser.
