Firefox does not stop running when Windows is closed down...

After closing all windows I set my PC to hibernate. Firefox continues to run. 

After starting up out of hibernate, I get the message: "firefox is running...must close firefox... must restart computer..."  Now I have to shut down my computer and restart every time.  I have no problem with Internet Browser

This problem has just begun occurring in the past week. But, it now happens every time I shut down windows and set the PC to hibernate or standby. I can't figure out why this suddenly began happening. Any help out here?
