how to copy thunderbird 'lists' from one address book to another

I was able to copy contacts from one address book by swapping abook.sqlite and abook.sqlite-1. So far so good but the lists did not copy across to the new abook.sqlite. Any suggestions as to solve this short of retyping the lists

I"m no expert on this, but you might look for a blist-1.sqlite. If so, a rename may do what you want. But make a copy first to be safe. You might also check to see if there were any remaining abook-1.sqlite-xxx entries.
