Unable to add other folder to unified inbox
When i click on Inbox and select Properties in 78 I get a window that doesn't exist in 91 that allows for alot of filters. This then brings up the Select the folders to search window. I can select both inbox and sent to have an ability to see the whole thread at a quick glance. However, in 91, it bypasses the first window and goes straight to the Select the folders menu. After selecting the sent folders in each email, I then click ok and the whole program locks up never to recover. I have to force quit.

When I right-click the Unified Inbox in 91 I get the same as your first picture. If I wish to add other folders besides Inboxes, the 2nd picture appears, I check the boxes, Update, and the extra messages appear in the Unified Inbox. Although I wouldn't advise adding other folders to a Unified folder, instead of a separate saved search, the operation proceeds without issues. Perhaps you have problems because you are using the 78 profile with TB 91, instead of a new profile, or your unified folders are damaged. Delete virtualFolders.dat and the Mail/smart mailboxes folder from the profile folder if Unified Folders isn't working.

Here's the 2nd window.
I don't think the Unified Inbox is intended to be modified - it's a particular type of Saved Search that includes the Inbox only from all accounts. To create a Saved Search including any set of folders, start from File/New/Saved Search.
I'm sorry, but what you said is not accurate. I included menu items to show how they are easily modified in 78. That same functionality in 91 is either not there or not yet working.

I am not using the same profile as I did not see a way to do so when I started up 91. I just re-entered all my email addresses and set it up new it as I liked it with 78. But I’ll try your other suggestion.
No joy. What you had me do did bring up that first menu as it does on 78 but after selecting the sent folders as I would normally do in 78, it didn't then bring back up that first menu to confirm and save, It just locks up as it did before. How can I just delete 91 without affecting 78? I'm not in the frame of mind to be a beta tester on this.
You can uninstall 91 and install 78, or reinstall 78 to a different directory. But to run a profile that was used in 91, in 78, you will have to launch 78 from the command line (terminal) with these arguments:
/Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird -profilemanager --allow-downgrade
which will launch Profile Manager.
If you do this, first export your address books in 91 to LDIF format so they can be imported in 78.
