Thunderbird will not except my apple mail,keeps asking for pass word,when given correct pass word .

Thunderbird will not let me get my apple mail, ask me for pass word, I enter correct pass word,but still will not open mail. This account was a working account, which was working. Message reads, (Login to server imap.mail.me.com failed). Thank-you

I don't know if you have done any of the below or not. Please double-check.

1. Setup iCloud for Windows on your computer: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html

2. Setup your e-mail account in Thunderbird with the settings that Apple says you should use: iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients

Thunderbird menu: Tools: Account Settings: For incoming e-mail: Select "Server Settings" on the left side under your e-mail account, and the settings are on the right side. For outgoing e-mail: Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" on the left side, then select the server you want on the right side. Click the "Edit" button to change the settings.
