If you curently have a pop mail account and the server allows you to use Pop or IMAP. In Pop account, Stop messages downloading and make sure you leave messages on the server. create a new IMAP mail account to same account. Create the necessary folders on the IMAP account and then move emails back onto server from pop account to imap account. '''OR''': You need to use a program that converts files. Thunderbird stores files in mbox format, but you can export emails in /eml format. Right click on email and choose to 'SAve As', choose where to save the file, notice it is saved in .eml format.
