Like many users, I was doing fine until 14.01 came out. In Vista it loads up fine, runs for a few tabs in any direction, and crashes. Chrome after 7yr of Fox!
Erased new 14.01, installed again, same failure after only a few minutes, independent of site or security. Is consistent in its failure. Which makes it unusable. Too Bad. Really. But switched to Chrome, which never does this when doing exactly the same sequences.

If you want to try to resuscitate Firefox 14, you could try the Reset feature. This duplicates certain key data from your active settings folder into a new one, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your plugins will still be active, but could be disabled manually if you like.
More information in this article: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
Does it make any difference?
