05.03.2024 - Ghostery notified me of an available update. Whilst the update was in progress it also downloaded JS.Heur.Calisto.2.7.4.E42F806.Gen. Fortunately, my antivirus software caught it and quarantined it. Can you explain why this was installed with a Ghostery update and please make others aware of this please?

That's strange. Last update of Ghostery was 3 months ago => https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ghostery/versions/

Did you update via the about:addons page? Note that you should never click in a pop-up to update, only update via built-in Firefox means or via the official website.
