Context menu, "Save Link As" wording change
Every week I download and save an MP3 file. I right-click the link to the file and look for some way to save file as. I right click because otherwise the file will play in the browser, and I need it on my hard drive.
There is a bug 275475 that hasn't been assigned to anybody, over the naming convention of the "save file as" function. From comments in the bug report, it is a very confusing issue for newcomers. I could save a link to http://example.com/some.mp3 as a shortcut on my Desktop if I use the Save Link As function, but I want a means to save the file, forget the link.
In truth, "Save Link as" has the precise functionality I am looking for.
This applies to Firefox 44.0.2 on Linux Mint as well as 46.0.1 on Windows.
I have used Firefox for a number of years, and it seems to me I had a function called either "Save File As" or "Save Target As" at one time.
The naming convention currently in place is confusing to this experienced user, let alone a first-time user of the product.
I would urge somebody to raise the importance of bug 275475 and assign it to someone for something to get done. From my own experience and from what I've read in the bug report, there are too many "Me too" to sweep this under the rug if Firefox wants to build or keep a reputation.

hi, i think the easiest way is to disable the built-in mediaplayer so those files will always be downloaded by default: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named media.play-stand-alone. double-click it and change its value to false.
It was probably "Save Link Target As..." as it is still that way in the SeaMonkey suite (continues on the old Mozilla suite).
