IF I click on a link in, e.g., a Disqus comment -- say, if I click on https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2026/Items/Jul01-4.html THEN the Firefox response is to send me to, e.g., https://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2026/Items/Jul01-4.html:1K9Y2syRo30ousOmB06EENUd6jg Of course, the outcome is a "404 Not Found" error message. So exactly WHAT is the point of FF adding ":garbagecharacters" to the end of URLs, since doing so utterly *incapacitates* the functionality of "clicking on an embedded link" ?

About every 1/2 hour I get this popup asking how to open a spotify link, with spotify or Firefox. see image that's great if I've actually clicked on a spotify link, but I haven't clicked on any links. So it's pretty annoying I'm fully updated on 152.0.3 (64 bit) window 11 up to date any ideas how to stop this?

(Note: this issue is probably the same issue as reported in 1439701 - Mouseover link tooltip url persistent through click and page load. While that user marked that issue as solved, their "resolution" makes fairly clear that the issue was never really solved.)

When hovering over a link, Firefox will typically show a tooltip at the bottom left with the link's address. Typically, this tooltip disappears when the mouse is no longer hovering over the link (whether because you moved the mouse or clicked the link). However, in some circumstances, the tooltip doesn't disappear when it should. Here's an example of how to reproduce the issue:

1. Go to YouTube 2. Search for anything. 3. Choose a result, and click on the thumbnail. (NOT on the title.)

Expected result: the tooltip showing the URL of the video disappears since the video is loading and the link you clicked no longer exists on the page.

Actual result: the tooltip persists. Once you hover over any other link on the page, behavior will return to normal.

I see many complaints about this new version v 149 for the Mac. The most outrageous one is that you can no longer drag links from a browser page (try BBC) to an email or a doc. You have to copy the link then it won't turn blue and only when received will it show up as a link. Like many others after 30 years use preferred over Safari and others I am seriously losing patience with Firefox. On the very day you announce split screen for Ff windows - you disable a vital feature that has worked for years causing me to waste so far 60 minutes of my hard pressed work time. Maybe this will be corrected in the next upgrade. But I am now intending to avoid all Firefox upgrades for 6 months after being offered. I doubt anyone on this forum will come back on this but my set-up is Mac OS Monterey - and Firefox v 148 worked perfectly before today. I hesitate to try and install the previous version because I am not used to doing such tech moves. Perhaps someone in the Mozilla head office congratulating themselves on the marvellous new upgrade will come across this but I doubt it

So whenever I click on new tabs, it always leads to a redirect notice asking me to confirm if I want to open those tabs.

I want it so that I don't get these notices, but the links I click on just open automatically. I have tried the following settings in about:config based on a few threads online:

accessibility.blockautorefresh

network.http.redirection-limit

A few other settings to that I have turned on and off but no difference.

A lot of the websites are also confusing because they seem to want to turn redirects ON rather than off, so potentially I am struggling to follow the correct information.

Within the past few weeks clicking links in emails in Outlook (Version 16.109.1) for Mac fails to open a tab in Firefox. Is this a known issue with either Outlook or Firefox? Perhaps something that happened in an update to one or the other that can be changed back to allow email links to open tabs?

Clicking a "Youtube" video link on the search page results in a duplicate of the search page in a new tab. If I go to youtube I can open videos with no problem. System is Windows 11 and Bitdefender Total Security. All updates are current. Thank you

Hi, it looks like Firefox can copy links from selected tabs, using right-click menu. It doesn't work for non HTTP(S) addresses though, such as "file:///C:/Users/USER/etc."

Is it possible for non HTTP(S) addresses?

The add on Export Tabs URLs by AL is very good, has the option for non HTTP(S) addresses, but I couldn't get it to work for selected tabs, is it possible for selected tabs?

Currently when I click a link in and email, it always opens in Microsoft Edge even though my computer has Firefox as default browser. Is there another setting I'm missing?

Mac OS 26.4.1 Firefox 150.0.1 I don't know if this the right topic for this question: My mailto doesn't seem to be working correctly. There are two places on this web page where there are mailto links and both send me to a screen that asks which application to use for mailto. When I select Firefox it just sends me back to the page that I clicked the mailto link and that's it. Hello Mozilla, FireFox in my default browser, but since you last update to 150.0, now my outlook won't open the hyper links from e-mail with them. It worked just fine between the two before. Now I get a message " this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this compute. Please contact your system administrator." I am the administrator! anybody else report this issue since? I've tried all the internet advised fixes of changing the regedit registers from FIREFOXhtml to just htmlfile, but no joy. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Edward England, UK

I'm using Firefox on Fedora 43 Linux, fully updated, and have it set up to use four desktops on the same monitor, using the Xfce DE and Compiz. For the last several months, any time I click in a link in Thunderbird, instead of switching to the desktop with Firefox on it, it pulls Firefox to Thunderbird's desktop and covers Thunderbird. This has continued through several updates of Firefox and at least one upgrade of Fedora. I don't know if Firefox or Xfce is the issue, but if it's Firefox, where do I look?

When I open email links in Firefox, it opens my mail app (proton) but not a new email message. I’ve been in contact with proton support and they said this is only an issue with Firefox and not other browsers. This take works fine on safari and brave on my end, so it seems like a Firefox specific issue. Is this a bug or is there a setting I can fix on my end?

When I click a link in Firefox sometimes it will open up the new window in Chrome, how can I stop this? I don't want to make Firefox my default browser, as I use Chrome for that.

bold textI have my Windows 11 and Firefox updated as of 4/3/2026. I have two ongoing problems with Firefox. 1. No link works. I keep getting redirected back to my original location. I have used your troubleshoot feature to restart, but it doesn't stay fixed. 2. I have AdBlock Plus Premium and everytime I close the browser it logs me out of my AdBlock account. It is a real irritating problem. I pay to have ads blocked and if I can't keep it from blocking unwanted ads, then I guess I will quit using Firefox.
