All extension icons except NoSquint disappeared FF3.6.17!
Two extension updates were available including NoScript and another, so I permitted them to install and restart FF. Now, the only icon left is for NoSquint. I even deleted and reinstalled NoScript, but still no icons in what I believe is the status bar (just above the systray).

After deactivating NoSquint the problem is gone, so it seems that NoSquint 2.1.1 (which was the only updated addon this morning) is the problem.
