I've been a Thunderbird user since its inception. This issue is new and it isn't being disseminated on the web. I could not get my ATT user name and password to work in Thunderbird on 2 of my ATT accounts. In order to fix this issue I had to log into my ATT profile for each account and create a Thunderbird specific password.

New users are probably giving up on Thunderbird because of this.
