I'm using firefox build in main password manager in firefox but searching something else, why is main secure feature so weak. Why I can't decide about when I wan't to show window ask for main password ? When I start firefox I get in random time question about fill main firefox password!!!! sometimes I fill there other text then I should bc I actually filling website address or other and suddenly main password window pop !

The user is asked for the Master password the first time per session that Firefox needs to access the stored passwords. If you would have a page that wants login as your Homepage, you would be asked when Firefox is first opened.

thats the problem, firefox asking for master password in random time, not always when I need for forms.

Are you using Sync?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
