Right click on tab and open tab NEXT to the current tab + duplicate tab

There are 2 things stopping me using Firefox over Chrome. I think Chrome is awesome - but I'd switch to Firefox if I had 2 things:

- Be able to right click on a tab and choose to a open a new tab next to the current tab

- Right click on a tab and choose to duplicate the instance (not just the address)

I'd classify myself as a super user :) I switch tabs and navigate from one browser to the next in a flash! LOL. I *really* need these 2 abilities.

Ideally would prefer to be built into Firefox - but a plugin that facilitates this will do!

Thanks.

Maybe Tab Mix Plus has these features

Note that you can middle-click the Reload button on the location/address bar to duplicate the current tab. This respects the browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent setting. You can also hold CTRL and drag the tab to a new position on the Tab bar.

cor-el has covered the methods I know about for duplicating the current tab with its history, neither of which involves the right-click context menu:

  • Ctrl+click or middle-click the reload arrow in the address bar
  • Ctrl+drag the tab slightly to the right -- once you see the heavy arrow pointing to the space between the current and next tabs, you can release the mouse button

For the "new tab" feature, the following extension moves new tabs (Ctrl+t or "+" button) from the end of the tab bar next to the current tab. It's slightly distracting, but might be as close as you can get in Firefox 57+:
