How do I delete an email account?

Before you remove an account in Thunderbird, move any messages for that account that you want to keep into a local folder. Removing an account will take all messages associated with that account that are not in a local folder with it.

Press the alt key if the Menu Bar is not showing.

From the Menu Bar select Tools-Account Settings

Select the account

Account Actions-Remove Account

When I get to Tools-Account Settings there is no Account Actions-Remove Account to select.

It should be the bottom choice in the account listing on the left side.

There is no option to delete an account. Only to create an account.

Try reading the instructions again. The option is there.

Maybe this will help. On my thunderbird I go to Edit then Account Settings then Account Actions{bottom left} then choose Remove Account.
