transfering from windows 10 to windows 7
I am doing the exact opposite of everyone else. I need to transfer from 10 TO 7. I have tried the recommendations for transferring from 10 to 7 but for some reason it doesn't work. I have tried all variations of transferring but nothing works. I am doing this because my widows 10 computer is acting up and I'm trying to save some of my folders before my hard drive fails.

The profiles with default-release and default-release-1 are due to the new 'profile protection' feature of TB 68 that has caused a lot of headaches. Try launching TB from the Profile Manager and see if you can select the older profile, and if so, set it as Default. To start PM, close TB, Windowskey+R, type thunderbird.exe -p If that doesn't work, try thunderbird.exe -p --allow-downgrade
When you install TB, you can choose the location of the program files during setup. Uninstall the current setup if necessary - uninstalling or re-installing doesn't affect the profile folder(s) with all user data.

The method given here applies to moving TB between any two computers, even ones with different operating systems or different versions of the same OS.
Copy the Thunderbird folder located (Windows) here:
C:\Users\username1\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird
to the same location on the target computer:
C:\Users\username2\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird
after deleting, or moving, the existing Thunderbird folder.
If you just need to transfer mail folders, use ImportExportTools NG.
for some reason whenever I start Thunderbird I get a blank screen in other word my emails don't show. I have 3 different profiles in explorer under Thunderbird. All the files are dated 12/26 in two of the profiles. One profile is the one I copied and has older dated files, the other two show release and release-1. What am I doing wrong? Also, the computer I am coping to has two drives. 1 is C: and the other is D: Thunderbird is loaded onto D: Is it possible to load Thunderbird onto C: It automatically loads onto D: Thanks for helping
