Update you Firefox popup never goes away
I have used Firefox for years on my Win 7 computer but it constantly gives me a popup saying I need to upgrade to the a newer Firefox. Even after I HAVE updated The popup is back complaining. I really think the newest versions are too much for my system. How can I stay with the version that I currently have and make the annoying Update popup go away forever? Thank you

Hi jim59, the updates and related nags shouldn't be that frequent. Let's see whether we can figure out the problem.
Your Firefox self-identified as version 68.0 but the current release is 69.0.1. Have you had a problem with Firefox rolling back to an older version? Or did you do that yourself?
There is no built-in feature for "never notify me of updates." There is a method that companies can use through Windows "Group Policy" or by creating a file named policies.json to prevent Firefox from ever checking for updates. It makes it impossible to update Firefox from inside the program. This is only suggested for companies that use other software to push out updates, and not for end users who may get stuck on a vulnerable version of Firefox.
If you like the features of Firefox 68 and want to avoid feature changes, you could consider switching to the "Extended Support Release" of Firefox 68. It will receive only limited security updates for about the next 10 months or so. This article has more information about it: Switch to Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) for personal use.
