Hi,

Got Thunderbird yesterday from Windows Live. Have most things figured out, but passwords. I am me all by myself with my desktop and a flip-phone.

I can Sign in with no password all the time, but I would need to enter a password to send a message. On the other hand, I need a password to sign in every time I open the program, but I do not need to enter a password to send a message. But I cannot work it so I do not need a password for both signing in, or sending.

Does anyone have a way to do what I wish to do. I have no need for passwords. Any help will be appreciated.

I am using Windows 8.1

I apologize, things seems to have worked them selves out. Thunderbird is working out to be something that will work for be better than Windows Live did any way. Again, I apologize for the hassle.

FYI: You do not sign into Thunderbird. There is no password for Thunderbird. You have a password for the email account you have with your email provider. You have to provide this password when your provider's server asks for it. You either enter the password when it is requested or you click the box on the password request dialog box for Thunderbird to remember your password and enter it for you.

I am embarrassed. You are correct.  :-| :-) At any rate, somehow things have straightened themselves out. I do not have to enter passwords at all.
