Drop down boxes does not work unless run in low memory

I have a setup with a number of kiosks running on firefox booted the network (PXE) with ThinStation

Sites with drop down boxes does not work... ... on activation, the drop down boxes will just flash.

I have tried running openkiosk and Rkiosk (which both uses firefox), but I can only activate the drop downs is I run the sites from firefox-low-mem - but then other things will not work.

My options are limited. I can change some user_pref settings. Not much more. What I can I try to get rid of the problem?
