why preferences/ use current pages sets the "preferences" page as a page to use each time I turn firefox on?
Open a few pages, then go to preferences / use current pages when Firefox starts. They will all open (normal) including the preferences page (not normal). Is it possible to fix that bug? Cheers, Olivier

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.startup.homepage.
Click on this to edit. Look for |about:preferences#general or |about:preferences and remove it.

Yes that is possible, but I don't know how much of a priority it is because it is easy for the user to correct it.
Thank you the-edmeister, it is certainly very easy for the user to correct it, but would it be possible to know how?

You can pin the tab with the about:preferences page via the right-click context menu of the tab to prevent including about:preferences to the home page setting if you want to use this button in "Options/Preferences > General". To set a single page as the home page you can drag the globe/padlock to the toolbar Home button.
