HI, I HAVE KINETIC FOR EMAIL, I HAVE ALL THE CORRECT INFO ENTERED IN SET UP YOUR EXISTING ACCOUNT AND IN INCOMING AND OUTGOING SERVERS AND I KEEP GETTING UNABLE TO LOG IN AT SERVER. PROBABLY WRONG CONFIGURATION USERNAME OR PASSWORD.. I CONTACTED KINETIC AND THEY SAY CONTACT TB ? BEEN USING TB FOR A LONG TIME YEARS, SO NOT SURE WHAT HAPPEND ON THE NEW UPDATE .. PLEASE HELP I NEED TB BACK . TYSM RENEE

Disabling Avast might not be sufficient. Remove it, at least temporarily, and try again. If you changed the password, remove the old one from Settings/Privacy & Security, Saved Passwords, restart TB, enter the new one when prompted.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the program usually doesn't help if the issue is tied to something in the (separate from the program folder) profile folder.

Post your settings, and compare them with the ones recommended by Windstream:

incoming IMAP server: imap.windstream.netport, 993, SSL/TLS, normal password, email address

outgoing SMTP server: smtp.windstream.netport, 465, SSL/TLS, normal password, email address

State your antivirus and VPN if present.

HI, TY FOR RESPONDING. I HAVE NO VPN, AVAST FOR AV.. I TRIED THIS CONNECTION, I TRIED WHAT KINETIC GAVE ME YESTERDAY. SSL/TLS 993 AND STARTTLS 587 AND , 143 587 THAT WON'T WORK EITHER . I AM 76 DON'T KNOW THAT MUCH BOUT THIS STUFF.. BUT THIS IS WEIRD .. I HAVE UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED SEVERAL TIMES, CHANGED PASSWORD .. FOR SURE USER NAME AND PW ARE CORRECT .. I TRIED SETTING OUTLOOK AND MAILBIRD AND SAME THING HAPPENS .. DON'T KNOW WHERE TO LOOK NEXT ?? RENEE

You might try disabling Avast.

UNINSTALLED AVAST THAT DIDN'T WORK .. THERE IS NO TB SETTINGS CAN'T GET THAT FAR .. TB FORM SAYS SET UP YOUR EXSISTING MAIL.. WINDOWS 11 CAN'T FIND PASSWORDS UNDER SETTINGS ??

Please post screenshots of your incoming and outgoing server settings panes. It will help us to see exactly what is stored in thunderbird. And, will you please stop posting in UPPER CASE? Thank you.

TO: sfhowes YOUR TIP WORKED I DID FIND OLDPASSWORDS IN EDGE BROWSER WHICH SOME HOW WAS BEING PICKED UP BY TB, I DELETED ALL THAT AND TB INSTALLED RIGHT AWAY .. TYSM FOR YOUR ADVISE RENEE
