Firefox updated. I know no longer have access to my bookmarks, saved links, and passwords. How do I revert back to previous version of Firefox? How do I retrieve access to my passwords, bookmarks, and saved links/pages? I will need easy step by step instructions.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Paul, thank you for your response. I really appreciate the easy to follow steps. I will report back if it works out for me. I became frustrated so I took a break.

As the first step, try to go to about:profiles and check if you have one profile or more. Your bookmarks could be in the 2nd profile.

If Firefox starts up after an update without your bookmarks and other settings, check whether your data is available in a different profile:

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it. The About Profiles page will open. This page should list at least one profile and could list many.

The profile that Firefox is currently using will show:
This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.

Please do not delete anything here; don't use any Remove buttons.

Do you have another profile named default or default-longnumber listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.

If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.

If it IS what you want, click the Set as default profile button for that profile on the about:profiles page. Firefox will use it automatically at the next startup.

For more information see Recover user data missing after Firefox update.

Note: If your bookmarks are not available in another Firefox profile, see Recover lost or missing Bookmarks for other solutions.

If an update made your Firefox bookmarks, passwords, or saved links disappear, it’s usually because Firefox created a **new profile**, leaving your old data untouched but inactive. You don’t need to revert to an older version—just restore the old profile. Open **about:profiles** in Firefox, look for a profile with your old data (often larger in size), and click **“Set as default profile”** or **“Launch profile in new browser.”** Your bookmarks and passwords should reappear. If not, use **Help → More Troubleshooting Information → Profile Folder → Open Folder** and check the **bookmark backups** and **logins.json/key4.db** files. Rolling back Firefox won’t restore data, but selecting the correct old profile will.
