It saves passwords for other sites, but not for FB. I checked the security settings - FB is not listed on excepted sites. I did choose to save it when Mozilla prompted me, but it won't do it.

Take a look at the Password Manager > Show Passwords. Is your username and password saved for FB?

You can also check the permissions for the Facebook site.

  • Tools > Options > Security > Passwords > "Exceptions"

You can inspect and manage the permissions for all domains on the about:permissions page.

There is an hidden input field in the log in form on the https://www.facebook.com/ that has the autocomplete=off attribute.

<input type="hidden" autocomplete="off" value="AVo6bz2T" name="lsd"></input>

I don't know if that might be interfering with saving the name and password.

Did you try the remember password ŏokmarklet this in mentioned in the mozillaZine knowledge base article to see if that makes Firefox ask to save the password?
