I recently had to change my password for my att.net email account. My iPhone and the att web mail have successfully read up to 0936, while thunderbird has only read up to 0922, and I cannot get the new password entered successfully to read any further.

Meanwhile, the sending function also cannot get the new password entered successfully.

This is the same password that now works on web mail and on my iPhone.

Account settings, server settings show the IMAP mail server is "imap.mail.att.net" port 993, username = email address in att.net domain, security is SSL/TLS normal password, Outgoing server default is "smtp.mail.att.net" port 465, same username, SSL/TLS normal password.

Settings, privacy and security, saved passwords locked up the mouse with giant cursor showing, had to close thunderbird via Alt+F4, mouse still locked up with giant cursor, had to close all other windows with Alt+F4, hoping to be able to close this one before rebooting computer.
