trouble connecting to an account

Hi! It's been approx. one month that my hotmail account does not connect to its server. Thunderbird keeps asking me for the password - which I'm sure it's correct 'cause I access the account via browser without trouble.

What could it be?

I've tried anything that comes to mind (beside deleting the account a re-adding it - cause I don't want it to go at the bottom of the menu below other accounts).
