Previous inbox messages disappeared

Hi there I am utilising Thunderbird Beta, today I deleted 2 messages from my Inbox mail and a prompt came up saying should I delete it would not be sent to trash. However, after doing this all my previous inbox messages have disappeared. That is a major problem, how can I retrieve these messages. Help!!!

try right clicking the folder and selecting properties and then repair. That will work if it is just an indexing issue.
