Why doesn't Thunderbird warn of an upgrade disabling add-ons

The add-ons I use in Thunderbird are critical to how I operate daily. Why does Thunderbird not provide a warning PRIOR to upgrading to a new version if the existing add-ons will be disabled??? It is utterly ridiculous to stomp on someone's configuration without saying something FIRST!!!!! It is a monumental PITA and waste of time and aggravation when everything I depend on STOPS WORKING!!! Unacceptable! Fix the upgrader to CHECK AND WARN FIRST!!! How goddamn arrogant can you be stomping on things? Are you Microsoft????

Yep I think this should be reconsidered in the light of the fact that it's now impossible (well not easy) to return to a previous version when some add-ons turn out not to work.

Easier said than done, of course, but at least a check against "nominal" compatibility could be envisaged, surely.

In the meantime one can maybe play safer by setting TB updates to manual and checking compatibility of add-ons before going ahead with an update.

The Installer knew which add-ons it had to disable and it did it "shoot first" and no questions before or after. Ever since I got badly hurt twice I am scared to accept any new version. My add-ons are the justification to use TB - not the other way around.
