Why has Mozilla made the current Firefox incompatible with Video Download Helper?
Why has Mozilla made the current Firefox incompatible with Video Download Helper? They have known about this problem for some time, and done nothing about it. Mozilla says that everyone should get the current Firefox for security reasons, and browsing ease. Nonsense! If you want to download Video Download Helper, you are going to have to uninstall the current Firefox, and reinstall the previous Firefox.

The latest version of Video Download Helper - Version 6.3.1 Released May 1, 2017 - is supposed to be compatible with Firefox 56.0, the beta version. And the recent user reviews don't indicate that it quit working in Firefox 55.
is this what most are using to download video off of the web? it seems to work most of the time but now and then it doesn't recognize the video in question.

I can not even get Video Download Helper to start on any video I am watching. Never used to have a problem with it then it stopped working due to Firefox upgrade. Recently was messaged to use it again that all the problems wer sorted but it just doesnt download anything. Fed up!
Under 'About this extension' - the developer says this :
When you first install the extension, your browser is redirected to a welcome page with links to a user manual at http://www.downloadhelper.net/howto.php.
This does not change your homepage setting and the welcome page won't appear anymore.
