I have an old vista 32 bit PC with windows mail. I have bought a Windows 10 32bit PC I have followed the instructions from this link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_switching-from-windows-mail-or-windows-live-mail-to-thunderbird for exporting the emails on the Vista PC into a folder on a My Book Essential drive. Looking at the properties of that folder it has 3GB and 18,333 files. I then plugged the My Book Essential drive into the Windows 10 PC and followed the instructions (from the same weblink) to import the folde into Thunderbirdr. The export took about 10 or 15 minutes on usb2 The import seemed to be far too quick and only took about 15 seconds, albeit on usb3. It appears to have imported the folder structure but none of them seem to contain any emails. Please can you suggest what I should do?

It is so long since I wrote that.

Do the files on your USB have an EML extension? If you double click on one what happens?
