mails will be deleted just from one computer

I have three mail adresses in thunderbird. This is because I work together with someone else so we have 2 personal mail adresses and one info mail adress. But now i've got the problem that when I for example remove all my mails they still will be visible on my account at the other computer.

If I delete an e-mail I would like that it will be deleted on all computers not only at mine.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you using IMAP?

Tools|Account Settings|{select account}|Server Settings and see what it says at "Server type".
