I have been a staunch user of 3.6 only since I upgraded to it years ago. I am an old timer and like the way I have modded it over the years with very useful Add Ons. Couple of weeks ago I decided to heed the constant warnings I was getting from Firefox and upgrade to 12.0. I managed to reasonably get the same functionality I had expected from 3.6, but now I have had problems over the past week, whatever I am doing to Firefox keeps breaking the Booksmarks Toolbar and also I can't type anything into the search box, well I can type it I just can't search, it won't select the search thingy. My worst fears have been realized, Firefox keeps breaking, and I have had to do a 'Restore' of my computer a half dozen times over the past week after not having to do that that many times over the past three years! PISSED in OHIO!!!

And where in the heck is a forum that I can look at and search for similar issues. A FORUM, you know where there are threads and postings and replies.

That's my question here, where is a FORUM, this isn't a forum.

See if this happen in Safe Mode , if this is not happen then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe Mode start window to disable all extensions.

Close and restart Firefox after each change from File > Exit

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You can also try to repair the places database with this extension:

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
