I can receive emails with Thunderbird, but cannot send emails. I tried the troubleshoot function, but do not understand enough to use it. Maybe I could uninstall Thunderbird, and then re-install it. Would I loose all my addresses and stored emails?

I suggest you first post screenshots of your SMTP server settings pane and complete error messages.

You would not lose anything with uninstall, but it is extremely rate that it helps.

128.5.1? And you had no trouble with 128.5.0?

In addition to what david mentions

Does problem change? Pop accounts or imap accounts?
