Ctrl+E and Ctrl+K to focus search bar now add "? " before caret. How to fix that?

For example I'm on "https://www.google.fr/", I type the shortcut and the search bar becomes "? " with caret at the end.

(My address bar and search bar are the same)

Hi arkay38:

I am on Windows 10 Firefox 64, and I don't see this problem. You appear to be on Firefox 65 beta, so maybe it's something changed in Firefox 65 beta?

Things you can try:

  1. disabling all Firefox Add-ons: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons
  2. Firefox Safe Mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

If you have the time, please post a video showing this problem.

Hi Roland,

Thank you for your reply! Indeed I checked in the non developer version of Firefox and Ctrl+E works normally, so you may be right, it has to be something changed in the beta. I'll report the bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org

Have good holidays! Victor

Ah, that is for the location bar (address bar/URL bar). Ctrl+e and Ctrl+k are for the separate (optional) Search Bar.

Oh, they both are the same for me.

Edit: OP stated it's the same for them as well.
