how do I uninstall firefox and reinstall a clean version. Every time I try to reinstall I get my old version , which is corrupted, back

It's very possible you got infected with Malware. Try downloading Malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.com and running a full scan.

Then, refresh Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
