How to remove empty toolbar?

After upgrade to Firefox 30 I have an empty toolbar under the menu bar (screenshot: http://abload.de/img/toolbargnk8k.png ). Is there any way how to remove this toolbar?

  1. First show the hidden files and folders:
  2. Go to your profile folder:
  3. Close completely Firefox.
  4. Delete or rename the localstore.rdf file.
  5. Restart Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you for the answer. It was probably caused by classic theme restorer plugin.

I installed that plugin, because with the new theme, I couldn't move the address bar next to the menu bar. Is there any way how to do that with the new version? I don't understand why would anyone wan't them to occupy two horizontal lines, when there is a lot of unused space next to the menu bar on widescreen displays...

Why not try just using the Alt key to temporarily display the menubar when occasionally needed.

You already will have by default

  • A new button with a menu and options to customise that menu and any toolbars
    • Use Use NewButton New Fx Menu → Customize [+] →
      1. Note the options menu [Show/hide Toolbars] if you need to display a toolbar.
      2. Drag icons to the customize palette to remove them or drag them to the New Fx Menu menu or to a toolbar.
      3. If necessary use the [Restore Defaults] button to undo existing changes

  • A firefox homepage with Firefox options on it try navigating to about:home
