I'm wondering how I'm able to open open an address book file (Thunderbird) with a separate program other than the Thunderbird Email Client?

Any Ideas Please?

I backed up my Thunderbird folder on my old pc, and moved it to my new pc. When I started Thunderbird, the appearance of the Inbox, plus my Address Book, was moved to the new pc. I don't see the Local Folders (and all the messages I put into the Local Folders) from my old pc, on the new pc Thunderbird app. I checked that the "Profile Folder" under Troubleshooting / Application Basics, was selected for the profile I moved from the old PC. I can see in the profile folder all the Local Folders. Any idea on how to get Thunderbird to recognize these transferred Local Folders and contents, so I can continue to access them on my new pc running Thunderbird ? Thanks

I have version 153.02esr. Since two days ago I cannot reply or forward messages. It pulls up the appropriate page but there is no box to send, the space is just blank in the upper left hand corner.

Why is Thunderbird consatntly coming up with "Authentification failure while trying to connect to server outlook.office365.com"? It never used to and would download my hotmail emails perfectly until about a month ago. This is very frustrating, I have removed my hotmail account from thunderbird and re installed it, works for ocassionally the back to same old message authentification failure. What is going on with thunderbird?153.02

My send button has disappear from my Thunderbird Email Client. I can still send messages by using <Ctl> Enter, but I would still like to get my send button back. Everything works well, including my "send later" add on.

I have reloaded Thunderbird, I have rebooted my system and <Send> is still gone.

Any ideas on how I can get it back , without deleting my program and re-installing it.

Old PC died and will not start up. I bought a new PC and was able to recover most file in the initiating the new desktop. I installed Mozilla Thunderbird on the new PC, but when I opened it only 55 EMAILS were available with the oldest being about 2 weeks old dating back to July 16, 2026. Is there a time limit for maintaining EMAILS online? Also, all of my contacts and Calendar events are not available.

I had created several folders to save important EMAILS and none of those sub-folders are visible to me. How do I get to those folders and EMAILS? Contacts and calendar are not as important, but they were used all of the time to communicate and stay on schedule

I tried to import using the tool provided, but received the following message: Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the error console.

I have lots of important information that I can't access!

My ISP changed us to another mail provider. So I created a new version of my existing email with different server settings, then restored my email backup. I did this all offline and it was successful. All my emails and folders were there.

Next, I went online to download new email, after which all of the messages and folders from the backup were removed (overwritten). I've tried repeating the process by removing the new account and reinstalling it, but I can't get my old emails and folders back. This is a significant problem because I have over a decade of financial and legal emails in the backup. I have tried a number of the solutions posted in the Community but have not been successful in getting my emails back. I'm using Windows 10 and Thunderbird 115.10.1.

Any insights are most appreciated.

The SEND button has vanished in Thunderbird. I don't recall changing anything or performing any updates, though my memory is getting to be unreliable.. In addition, the LINK button has vanished as well. I imagine I did or am doing something stupid and it's an easy fix, but what that might be totally escapes me..

I have thunderbird installed on my PC, and my main email account is a gmail account. I download from gmail using POP protocol (SSL/TLS connection security, OAuth2 authentication). I have been using these settings for a long time (15 years?).

This afternoon, thunderbird stopped downloading my messages. No error messages : just "no new messages to download".

I can see (by logging directly into my gmail account using my browser) that there are new messages on the server. They're not spam or junk, and they're not getting downloaded into my (local) spam folder. They're not getting downloaded at all.

I still have room on the google server (it's about 87% full), and room on the hard drive on my computer (about 3 GB).

Each time I open TBird, I get a message at the bottom left of the screen telling me that TBird has deleted X number of messages. I do not want TBird to ever delete any messages. How do I turn this automatic delete function off?

Seems like soon as a batch of emails download they all open up immediately or at least as soon as I open or delete one they all open. Never had this happening until just late this week.

When writing a new message, the Menu bar does not display so I cannot Send a composed message. This happened all of the sudden, and I have unsuccessfully searched to find out how to restore the Menu Bar. My 32 bit Thunderbird is up to date. Up to date Windows 11, & Firefox (default browser). I have emailed 7th August to what appears on my mobile from Thunderbird settings just a review address. I explained that I have not received in Thunderbird any emails from my BT email system since Monday 22 July which happens to be the date shown on my mobile phone as the last date for your update. I can send emails via Thunderbird but not receive messages. The email address I use is john.morris@deritter.org.uk which goes to john.m280@btinternet.com I am sending this message from my laptop as it is easier to write that way and I stand a better chance of getting a reply than on my mobile Thunderbird.

Could you please let be know if your settings update on 22July caused the problem or what else needs putting right.

Another question. BT have a Spam folder to which many important emails are directed. These are not collected by Thunderbird which does not have a Spam folder. This means that if verifying codes are sent to my email address I can't recover them.

I am otherwise very pleased with Thunderbird and would just like these points investigated. Kind regards John Morris

My Send short cut has disappeared.. I also have the "send later" add on to my Thunderbird. I seem unable to send messages. Is there a key board short cut to for sending mail? My old Eudora account used to have one a <Ctl> S.... (With Thunderbird this is Save, instead of send).

I sent you a very detailed email the other day unfortunately I am not sure if you got it because I could not verify it because I think you sent me a code or something to the very Email I cant get access to.

clearly as a 68 year old man who knows nothing about modern technology things like this are not what you need I am also classed as Severely disabled with various illnesses from Diabetes and sleep apnea to Ulcerative Colitis and mental health problems.I also have CTS in both hands so trying to type this out on my phone is not ideal I am not having a go at anyone but I would have thought that with the amount of intelligent people connected to technology organisations that one of them would have thought about this type of problem and came up with a simple solution it's not rocket science if the main problem I'm having is not being able to access my email and have no other accessible other ways to confirm things to you surely a freely available freephone number from the country you live in to yourselves or if you yourselves contacted the person Directly preferably on their home phone but if not their recognised mobile number and asked them some basic security questions by firstly asking them for two step verification to their mobile (if they have one) likewise I am aware not everyone had either a home phone or a mobile (or both) because of various problems I have encountered with verification methods that are not available to me or might be but I dont know how they work then surely I cannot be the only one? under the 1998 Human Rights Acts and Protocols Article 1 Protocol 1 people like myself are meant to have protective status especially here in Britain where the 2010 Equalities Act is meant to give us added protection and certain rights all I am asking for is to speak to someone who wont talk to me using Computer Jargon and at least has some Empathy and Common Sense to help me get this Sorted I use Firefox and Mozilla because I Like what you are trying to do but if you are going to cause people like myself the exact same problems I and others like me may as well just not bother with technology because the Stress it causes me in particular is simply not worth it. On T-Bird start up I'm given a list of (originally) four Profiles. Currently I only use Profile Three, but on start=up today it is not there. Doing the usual searches does not list it, only 'default', 'new user' and 'profile two'. Is there any way to recover it?

And worse yet, every 10-15 seconds I receive an alert that the connection has timed out. About a year-ish or so ago, our internet provider (Cox) sold our email service to yahoo. Although I managed to get all of the accounts (cox allowed our household 5) entered so that they all *received* mail, only one was able to send mail. The other four could only receive. Also, I could not send mail from either my google/gmail address or my very ancient yahoomail address. But all could at least receive mails. All in thunderbird, Excellent. As of yesterday, only one (a previous cox address) can receive or send mail. I tried sending a test mail to all of the other addresses, and no joy. If I get onto the yahoo main site, I can sign in with password and then must receive a text, phone call or other verification. And, of course, sign out of each, then sign into another, lather, rinse, repeat. Apparently I can also use a "passkey" which appears to be an actual "thing" that I have to plug into a USB port. I don't have one of these and have no idea what it is or how to get one. Since I've been composing this request, I've gotten 6 pop-up notices that the thunderbird server to yahoo has "timed out" - this is pretty annoying! And, there's another one! I am open to suggestions! Thunderbird has been great for getting all the emails in one place. Now, not so much. Help me!

thunderbird is not able to access mail.twc.com for 2 days now. Spectrum webmail didn't work yesterday, but is now functional. Thunderbird may need a fix to deal with whatever changes Spectrum made to its mail server,

Incoming mail on my windows 11 computer has begun appearing in the Sent folder instead of the Inbox. It appears to have started 7/26/26. When I right click on the message I see an option to "move to inbox again".

  This does not happen on my Macbook.
