on a neew install of firefox I can not sync

Hi 347indian, There were some network issues with sync yesterday. Please try again today.

If you continue to have issues, turn on sync logging and paste a few lines with error messages.

How do I turn on sync logs:

1. Open about:config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
2. Restart Firefox and look at: about:sync-log
3. Logs and error messages will be located here

.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks asks for a string. I restarted firefox tried to sync no log was created

On that date I had a ton of login errors appending to my logs. Please make a local back up of your profile folder, then remove the account, then login again.

It may have been the network issue from last week.

Hi 347indian, Apologies for the delay, last week the forum notifications were backed up a few days. There was a network issue with sync in the first week of August that had the "unexpected error" and did take a few days to resolve.

Is is possible to remove the account from the mobile device then readd it to the new Firefox for Android? Also are you syncing over data/wifi?
