Hello, Apparently, when changing the name of the .thunderbird folder, to hide it, Thunderbird 140.3.0esr (64 bits) continues to exhibit messages. I do not find where they are located. Any idea? Thanks SG

Non riesco più a configurare la mia pec su mozilla thunderbird da quel momento poichè mi dice che l'autenticazione al server non è riuscita. configurazione,email o password errati. Come posso fare? I need help with two items of thunderbird program. 1. I have a new iMac desktop OE Tahoe version 26.1 I tried to figure out how to use my thunderbird program to be just like the one in my older iMac version Tahoe 26.1. I found info in your forum. When I followed the info it was as simple as never before…which kind of concerned me. In the instructions for setting up thunderbird into the new iMac, it said to log into my acct using my email address. That worked & it asked if I wanted to open a new acct or the existing one. I used the existing one & it walked me through the pop & stmp setup. When it opened up, all the existing emails were on the new iMac. Super easy. But now I don’t know how to make thunderbird in the new iMac to look like the old one with large font like in thunderbird 140.4 version. Can you help me with step by step info? 2. In using thunderbird on the new iMac, will the emails still be accessible in the old iMac? Am I making sense or do you need something else from me? Hello fans of Thunderbird and W10 32 bit, I have maybe a luck day today and I have found, where Thb has saved my enclosures .. my and maybe Thb and W10 32 bit problem is, that I cannot tell Thb, where it has to save e-mail enclosures, so Thb saves them to temporary folder of W10 32 bit ... user\...\AppData\Local\Temp\... (W10 jungle folders) ... There is a simply manual, how I can save today one my enclosure on attached image ...

Thunderbird 140.5.0esr started acting weird with my Pop3 account. Normally it downloads all the messages (300-500 daily) and then deletes them from the server, as expected. However, during the last few months I have experienced 3 issues. In all, TB starts the downloading, than pauses at some point (like "Downloading 189 of 291") then ends the downloading process. At that point I have some of the downloaded messages in my Inbox, and ALL of the messages are at the server too. If I restart the downloading again, I end up with duplicate messages in my Inbox, and all the messages still at the server.

I, than, have to identify which messages have been downloaded, delete them from the server manually (with IMAP client) and start the downloading process on TB again, and this goes on until all messages are downloaded.

Any suggestions ? How can I troubleshoot this issue ?

When I click on the grey cloud, next to the blue [+ New Message] button, to download any new messages the system displays 4 messages in the status line. It is 4 because I have 4 email accounts.

My problem is that these messages, and any other ones, disappear to quickly. Is there any setting I can change to make them stay visible for a few seconds longer?

Ich habe versehentlich mehrere hundert Mails geöffnet, anstatt diese zu löschen. Nun startet TB145 unter Windows 10 nicht mehr richtig. Es friert ein, auch ist die Menüleiste nicht mehr erreichbar. Ich habe auch den abgesicherten Modus Probiert nichts geht. Was muss ich tun um das zu beheben?

In both my Inbox and my saved email folders, when I click on an end-to-end encrypted email, Thunderbird (v145) displays "Loading Message..." and then blocks with a spinning blue "working" cursor for on the order of 30-60 seconds. The Thunderbird dialog then appears to make some progress, as the windows seems to "flash" as if it's being cleared, but the email content doesn't appear. After about another 20-30 seconds, the encrypted email contents appear, correctly decrypted.

This long delay only occurs when I click on encrypted email messages, and it happens every time I click on an encrypted email message, and this behavior only started occurring in the past couple of days (correlated, I believe with Thunderbird updating to v145) so I think it's safe to assume the issue is with end-to-end encryption/decryption in Thunderbird v145.

Thunderbird can receive emails but I cannot send them. I get the error message per the screenshot below concerning SMTP.

I have a MacBook Air with Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.2. The error started yesterday (21 November). Just finished conversing with Optus support and they say that it's not at their end: webmail works okay, can receive email and send it (will note there was a brief hiccough earlier today when could not send from webmail, but okay now). All settings as recommended (port for incoming server actually different from what Optus recommends, but when I changed it from 995 to 110, Thunderbird stopped being able to download emails, so changed it back again. Port for outgoing is as recommended, 25.) I tried lowering security, as suggested by Thunderbird help list, and no change so restored it.

I have the latest version of Thunderbird for Mac, 145.0.

My partner, who also uses Thunderbird, cannot send emails either. He has an older Mac running an older OS.

I have included two images, the second one showing details of selected server. When I clicked 'fetch certificate' it failed. Does that signify anything important?

The error console shows a lot of information, which of course I cannot understand, but can screenshot some of it if that would help.

No firewall, no virus protection, no VPN.

Any ideas as to what might be going on?

As we are now accepting Xmas orders for our customers fish requirements 🙏🦀😌i’m trying to create a simple one line reply so we keep an acknowledgement short, informative and consistent but i’m not sure how to do it?

I’ve used quick parts in the past but cannot see it and it has to be least clicks and simple as other members who will check the emails are not great at computers so basic is best and i can set it up for us all 🐟🙏

How can I duplicate below in TB / BetterBird ?

We all know and see from left side of TB / BettreBird open app screen is the list of email accounts one has. In Outlook 2016 and onwards one can add just the Inbox of each mail account I have to a list called 'Favourites' and this resides above all the mail accounts and displays as a list of all the 'Inboxes' only. This means I just have to click on each respective inbox an it displays just that....all the mails in the Inbox. Currently I just have the list of account names where, when a mail is received and the corresponding circled number of mails shown I have to open the account to see the drop down then select the Inbox to get to the list of emails.

I am sure I am missing the solution.

I have tried to set up an import from my gmail account to my thunderbird account but I always get an error message saying wrong configuration. How do I get this account set up? Buck

My Inbox folder has suddenly dropped to second last position in the folder list. How can I get it back to the top of the list? Is it possible to move the folders around?

when sending email, I get this message "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder ([edited from public] @optusnet.com.au) due to network or file access errors." I would like some help to resolve this. Thanks

I use Windows 11, Thunderbird both current versions. I recently had a problem with my server at Spectrum in that I could not receive emails as a POP3 account. I backed up my profile and contacted Spectrim, knowing I would have to do some tweaking on the configuration because that’s what they ask you to do. After many calls and nearly 3 weeks, they decided that if I wanted email, I would have to switch to IMAP protocol even though I have used Thunderbird as a POP3 client for more than 5 years. After more requested configuration tweaks, I decided to uninstall the mangled version of Thunderbird, download the latest version, install it as an IMAP protocol client. It is now working as IMAP, but now I need to bring over my address book and messages from the POP profile, which I am now finding a bit awkward. I don’t want to do an import from the saved profile, as there are differences in configuration and I don’t want to just bring over everything, but really all I want is the address book and my messages. I have figured out the address book and done that, but I’m concerned about the messages. If I import from the saved (POP) profile, can I just import the appropriate folders from the MAIL file only ?

I can receive emails, but when I try to send out, won't and displays error message Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: Cannot connect to SMTP server 15.134.4.122 (15.134.4.122:25), connect error 10060."

Three weeks ago I attempted to migrate my TB profiles from a 2014 mini-mac to a 2024 mini-mac. I thought I did a better job of backing up my profile using CCC than I actually did. In the migration to the new Mac I lost all my subfolders from the last 20 years. Apple created a new Profile and 2 restoration Profiles on the new Sequoia based mini-mac. I wasn't familiar with these and panicked. I copied those files, took them back to the original mac and tried to follow Toad-Hall's method of restoring the subfolders recommended to bmack1 on 23/11/22. However, I failed to carry out the step of going up two levels in the path of the Library to copy the entire "Thunderbird" file and only copied the Largest restoration file. This in turn, "contaminated" the 2014 original Thunderbird mail profile and only an Inbox and Trash subfolder remained. Today, after 3 weeks of searching and reading the generous contributions of this community, I came across a post explaining that the "sbd files" will show the subfolder headings I created in the original sought after Profile. And I found it!!! My problem is I have re-read Toad-Hall's method of re-installing the original Profile and tried to carry that out to the letter by placing the old Profile within a Thunderbird folder and switching it with the current one. But it's still listed as the "Restoration qqg...file" and probably shouldn't be, but I don't want to go any further and risk losing it because I feel I almost have it. So any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
