All my Saved Passwords are gone!
Hi,
Firefox somehow forgot all my Saved passwords. The list is empty. Under my profile folder there is an empty file "logins.json.corrupt", and no "logins.json".
None of the solutions work for me:

Am I fucked? Is there a way to get them back?
How can Firefox do such a horrible thing?

In Firefox 58+ the encryption key (master password) used to encrypt usernames and passwords stored in logins.json is stored in key4.db (previously in key3.db).
If you have a key3.db file and a key4.db file then remove key4.db. Rename logins.json.corrupt to logins.json and see if that works. Make sure to keep a backup copy of all three files (logins.json.corrupt and key3.db/key4.db).
My version is 59.0.2 (64-bit)
Removing key4.db does not work for me. Saved passwords are still missing :(
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

What do you mean with "my desktop"? I've checked directories "~/Desktop" and "~/.mozilla/firefox/". I don't see any folder with a name "Old Firefox".
You did rename logins.json,corrupt?
Did you inspect the logins.json file in a text editor to see if the formatting looks OK?
You can also drag the file in a Firefox window.
Otherwise you can try to install the Firefox version you used previously (58.0.2).

I don't feel comfortable installing an older version. If there's no other solution I'll just give up.
