Hi,

Since the latest update, I have not been able to open firefox on a second profile I have on my Mac (I normally have 'work' and 'personal', both admins but the 'work' is the main one. It's the 'personal' firefox that is not opening.

It tryies to install the helper (a new thing), prompts me for the password, then doesn't do anything. The firefox icon bounces like it's doing something, but then doesn't. On my main profile, everything is normal and fine. I also think the 'helper' is already installed from the main profile, so it shouldn't need to do it.

Running a MacBook Pro, latest OS.

I have a list of websites that I keep in the cookies exceptions list so I remained logged in. But I noticed the list is blank in a few recent Firefox versions, even though the sites still retain the cookies. That means I cannot edit the entries or even see them.

At one point earlier this week, I had to sign out of all but one of my google accounts to get a link for a remote meeting to work. Afterward, when I visited youtube, it logged me in under that google account, which is not the one I use for browsing on my own time; I logged out, then, when I tried to log in under the proper account, google/youtube thought erroneously that I had set a passkey, and it and my password manager fought. I fixed the conflict (deleted the unset passkey). Then Youtube stopped letting me log in; no matter what, I get sent to www.youtube.com/oops

Initially, this error effected youtube login on all every browser I use. Clearing the cache and history on those, after having fixed the password issue, fixed the problem on them. Firefox, however, is refusing every fix.

I have cleared the cache, the history, going back to 'Everything.' I uninstalled and reinstalled the browser. I have disabled all add-ons and enhanced tracking. I have gone into the advanced configuration settings for firefox and deleted the cookie files for my profile. Youtube and Google are ON my security whitelist. I've tried "forget about this site." I've tried private browsing after first clearing the cache and history, "forget about this site", and after deleting the cookie sqfiles.

It has been days, and I am going in circles! Can anyone please help me?

Trying to add an extension my mypoints.com, I have the site allowed for downloads but when I try, I receive a message that it is blocked from being downloaded.

When I in Firefox try to print a page from Google Kalender (Swedish), it just turns out blank. All other kinds of printouts , e.g. Word, web pages, etc., works fine. This problem started some weeks ago. Please help! Thank you!

Original FF user here so not a newbie. Run all FF updates on a regular basis. Currently on a MacBk Air circa 2020 running Sonoma 14.7.7 I browse twitter on a regular basis. I run various ad blockers: ABP, Adblocker Ultimate & Privacy Badger. Last month or so I've needed to make some adjustments as maybe the X platform has instituted workarounds or something but suddenly I was seeing ads that looked like someone's post, very deceptive. At one point it was necessary to disable Privacy Badger on twitter/X as there was an interference w what I was seeing. That wasn't that long ago, maybe 2-3 wks? Consequently if I saw an ad I needed to do a "block element" thru Adblocker Ultimate & while it was a bit of a bother that was all fine and good no problem. Again, this was all recent. Tonite was different. An ad appeared and somewhere something got entangled and I had to disable the Adblocker Ultimate. I sent them an email to see what's up. Then I had to disable that on twitter so ads appeared. Next I tried to enable ABP again on twitter to see if maybe since I'd disabled it a couple of wks prior maybe it had been updated and would work ok. This is when things really started to go downhill. It worked but too well - was disabling images from news reports and/or someone's posted video. THEN I noticed my cpu was running a bit loud. I tried to disable/test the ad blockers but my cpu was getting louder so I shut down the twitter website altogether.

That didn't help. I checked the Utility monitor and saw my activity monitor climbing as I heard the fan running louder. SO bizarre! I shut down FF altogether and this calmed down the CPU. Next I opened just a general news site - Al Jazeera - to see what would happen. Within about 2-3 mins the CPU started speeding up again. I closed AlJazeera, and just sat there for a few moments and my cpu calmed down. Opened it again same thing. Began speeding up. That's when I came here to file a report//ask qs because this just doesn't ever happen - literally ever. It is not unusual for me to have both a browser page open w 2-3 windows along w a private window open - maybe mltiple windows there - and NO cpu noise going on. Once more I shut down FF completely before reopening a new window. IF I start browsing a news site - like Al Jazeera, it begins running hot again. Twitter, same thing and now my ad blockers seem to be messed up//not working as well. Right now as I type this I have ABP & AdBlocker Ultimate both highlighted as active; Privacy Badger is showing enabled but no activity, Twitter Video Downloader is just sitting there as is typical unless I need it (it's to download videos off of Twitter, works very well too.) That's all I have for add-ons. Right now in just this window everything is calm and quiet. IF I open a news site tho, or social media, anything w a bit of activity on it everything starts humming louder and louder. I just opened FB for a few moments to see if that creates issues and yes it does w/i maybe 2-3 mins of activity. Also: FF Privacy & Security Settings are on Standard. Not sure what else I can provide but please feel free to ask. I may have left something out. I'm hearing the cpu heat up again so getting ready to just shut things down for the night. Thanks to all who helped build FF - really - and thanks to whoever can help resolve whatever's going on now.

After a recent update, all my tabs disappeared. I had set them in tab groups. It's all gone. This is despite having settings selected to restore tabs from previous session on opening.

I had several tab groups. I open and save and close them every day. but since yesterdayI cant find them at all. If I create a new tab group it appears but those old tab groups not! I've tested troubleshooting mode but noting.  

Firefox 154.0 (aarch64), macOS 26.6.2.

Updated to Firefox 152.0.1 and I've noticed about:privatebrowsing now has a very bright garish (subjective) purple background; I'd like to replace this with something else.

Here's what I've tried so far:

• Adding the css in this 2023 reddit post to my userchrome.css
• Fiddling with about:config, per Ty and James' replies in this similar 2022 question
• As a sanity check, directly editing the style element of the body tag in the inspector to check if `background-color: #424242` the css works. (obviously doesn't stick, see first point)
• As a second sanity check, changing the colour in the userchrome.css to fuchsia, as I'd read in older articles there'd sometimes be a flash of colour before something else was applied and bright pink is easier to see than grey
• Changing the Firefox theme from System theme (Auto) to Dark, Light, and then Firefox Alpenglow to see if that would change the background colour (it doesn't).

I do see that Alpenglow theme now matches about:privatebrowsing shockingly well, but it's not my preferred flavour of utilitarian blacks/dark greys.

Tried to show what I'm after, screenshot of about:privatebrowsing in a split view next to about:newtab. Other than above, the only other things in my userchrome.css are some styles to attempt to return curvy tabs edges.

I’m having an issue while using a web proxy service in Firefox. I’m trying to access Croxyproxy Croxyproxy, but I’m not sure whether the problem is related to Firefox settings, cookies, JavaScript, or Tracking Protection.

Has anyone experienced similar issues when using Croxyproxy with Firefox? Are there any Firefox settings I should check to make sure the website works correctly?

Trying to go through SYNC did NOT help ... still nothing.

I need someone to help me figure this out.

I recently installed Norton 360 Deluxe on our Windows 11 computers. We don't like difficulty in setting and keeping FireFox as our default browser. Also, we keep getting pop-up windows from Norton. I expect Norton is slowing our computers down. I am thinking about changing to Avira. With that software, is it easy to set and keep FireFox as our default browser and does it use as much of our computer's resources as Norton does?

Also, I'd love to hear general thoughts & recommendations about Avira vs Norton.
