Transferring Passwords to new computer

The most straightforward way would be backup up and moving your whole account. There is a handy article about this already: Restore your Firefox browsing data with a backup file. If that's not an option for any reason (which is likely if your computer is not working), there is a manual way too: Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data. Do you have access to your files at least?

Hi, the two most common methods would be:

(1) Sign your new installation of Firefox in to your Mozilla Account and let Sync populate saved data categories like passwords and bookmarks.

That would only work if you were using Sync on the computer that died.

(2) Recover files from the old computer's hard drive and use them to set up Firefox on your new computer.

On Windows, Firefos normally stores your data under a hidden path, so you need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folder. Then you can explore the files on the old disk. For example, if you have attached it as an External USB drive, you would look under:

drive:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

If you have space, I would grab that entire folder for future reference.

If you aren't very familiar with navigating files and folders, that might be a bit much to digest on the first read, but either way, the first step is to get the data off the old computer. Then we can continue from there.
